She’s built a reputation for edible spectacle working on installations and events with fashion brands like Hermès, Gucci, and Byredo and last year launched her craft-focused tableware line, Gohar World. Laila Gohar, known for her surreal food sculptures, has moved into homeware design and is working with global artisans to help preserve "dying and disappearing" crafts, she tells Dezeen in this. She’s an artist who creates wild food-themed installations in unexpected scale and locations, her work is in demand globally amongst the fashion elite—including Prada, Hermès, Nike, and Gucci, to name a few.
